Dora Farkas is a PhD from MIT who consults doctoral students how to finish their dissertation. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Tufts University, worked in the pharmaceutical industry, and then trained as a life coach before creating the “Finish Your Thesis” online course and her academic consulting business.
She also offers individual coaching for students to complete their dissertation. Since 2009 she has coached over 200 students in almost 30 different fields, including mathematics, science, engineering, humanities, and social sciences.
Dora uses a great marketing strategy to reach potential clients. She writes articles for numerous websites, offers free content on her website – including ebooks – and even offers free webinars. Through these methods of engagement she shows potential clients the value of her academic consulting business. Even if they don’t take a course of hers, they still walk away having benefitted by interacting with her online.
